Employers are legally required to ensure their first aiders are competent and maintain their skills throughout the three years in which their certificates are valid.
The Health and Safety Executive recommends that first aiders attend a refresher session once every year during this three-year period.
This session builds on your expertise and confidence. Any protocol updates or changes in first aid treatments will be covered as and when they occur.
